Art Gallery Exhibition at Centre 64: ‘Material Change’
Jun 6, 2017 - Jul 1, 2017
The theme of this art gallery exhibition at the Centre 64 Art Gallery is Material Change. Four exceptionally creative artists put their hands and hearts to work to find new and exciting ways to use ordinary material, with results that will amaze and delight viewers:
- Darcy Wanuk’s extraordinary textiles
- Bart Bjorkman’s eclectic lighting
- Alison Bjorkman’s furnishings
- Win Dinn’s mixed-up mixed media
It’s called ‘upcycling’ – the metamorphosis of a material from its original purpose to a new function. It’s when inspiration becomes vision – design – experiment – play … and the outcome is an installation of materials changed! It’s a wonderful jumble of old and new design.
You’ll find an amazing range of second-life items that include a snare drum light, disassembled/reassembled clothing, reupholstered vintage furniture and a table-sized steampunk clock.
Using such diverse objects as distressed books, discarded clothing, dryer sheets, found items and too-well-loved furniture, the artists are preparing to astound and intrigue you.
This delightful Art Gallery Exhibition is presented by the Kimberley Arts Council.
