Kimberley Open Gate Garden

915 Rotary Drive
Kimberley,

Kimberley’s Open Gate Garden is an edible community garden based on sharing knowledge, ideas, tasks and food. There are no allotted plots and anyone is free to use the space.

The garden, which is located on Rotary Drive just south of the Aquatic Centre in Kimberley, was developed in 2014 when the ground was broken and fencing installed. You will find all the necessary tools in the open shed, along with a gazebo, composting units and our famous re-purposed freezer beds.

The garden is for everyone!

When you visit the Kimberley Open Gate Garden please sign the logbook in the shed as this helps us in our efforts to secure ongoing funding.

Dirk de Geus, the Food Sustainability Coordinator is always open to suggestions, ideas, and queries about how you can get involved. Please feel free to contact dirk@wildsight.ca. Keep in the loop by signing up for Dirk’s Open Gate Garden Newsletter by emailing Dirk. In this newsletter you will be the first to know about activities, work bees and tasks at the garden.

From June 7th until the end of August we will be at the Open Gate Garden every Wednesday from 8am to 12pm. Nibble your way around the garden, help us grow nutritious, living foods and engage in meaningful conversation in order to learn more about each other and our natural surroundings.  See you there!
