Golden Civic Centre
The Golden Civic Centre was originally built in 1948 from posts and beams salvaged from the Columbia River Lumber Company. It was restored and enhanced in 2011 and is today, the performing arts and cultural centre for the community of Golden BC as well as an ideal venue for concerts, weddings receptions, dances, business meetings, etc.
The Great Hall, with a seating capacity of 300 in row seating, is a warm space with a vaulted, timber-frame ceiling. It is the venue in Golden for concerts, stage productions and films. There is a Green Room, dressing rooms, washrooms, shower facilities and mirrored spaces. The Great Hall also features a PA/Sound system, grand piano and full theatrical lighting. For concerts, etc. a third-party contractor supplies a necessary sound set-up.
For sit-down events such as banquets, wedding receptions, etc. in the Great Hall of the Golden Civic Centre, chairs, tables (either round, rectangular or café-sized) can be arranged to suit the event. The seating capacity for these types of occasions is approximately 240.
A café features an industrial cooler, counters and sinks, making it an ideal bar/light refreshment centre.
The kitchen for use by caterers is located on the lower floor. It features stainless steel counters, electric stove top and ovens, deep sinks, an industrial dishwasher, refrigerators and freezers.
