When a hint of autumn is in the air, what could possibly be a better way to celebrate this glorious season than with the old-fashioned Windermere Fall Fair? The community of Windermere knows just how to host the best one ever!

The Windermere Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival brings visitors of all ages from near and far. By the time the gates open promptly at 10 AM, the judges will have made their decisions and the community hall will be filled to the brim with displays of the winning entries in a multitude of categories, all proudly sporting their ribbons. Every kind of vegetable and fruit that can possibly be grown in local home gardens, jams and jellies, pickles, home baking, canning, herbs, flowers, photography and so much more, have been judged and found to be the very best. The displays of the winning quilts give testimony to the amazing talent of valley quilters.

Outdoors, there are demonstrations of bent-willow furniture making, wood-carving, black-smithing, etc. plus beautiful hand-made jewellery, knitted items, artwork and more to admire and purchase. Delightful scarecrows are displayed all around the grounds, unique and hand-made by creative individuals, families or businesses and all entered into the competition.

There are games and contests for the kids, with a dog show, face painting, fish tank, clowns, etc. And all the while, talented local musicians keep toes tapping and add that special fall-fair atmosphere.
