Wild Nature Tours Wetland Wonders is the next event in Wildsight’s Wild Nature Tours series of summertime adventures.

We are going to explore our own Columbia Wetlands.  It is North America’s longest intact wetland and one of the most diverse ecosystems in Western Canada. Our tour guide will be Dr. Suzanne Bayley, Emeritus Professor of Ecology at the University of Alberta.

It’s a family-friendly walk that will give every age something new and wonderful to exclaim over and when it’s finished, we will all have a new and deeper appreciation of the wonderland of nature that’s right in our own backyard.

Be on the lookout for wood ducks, wigeons, water lilies, painted turtles, bald eagles and great blue herons – and there’s so much more to appreciate. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

We will meet at 8:45 AM at the Columbia Wetlands access point north of Wilmer. Take Westside Rd. north for about 2.5km past Wilmer. Stop at the first turn-out. We will then head down and around the slopes.

Please be prepared for all kinds of weather: raincoat, hat, sunscreen, lots of water and decent shoes!

Minimum number of guests: 4
