Columbia Valley & East Kootenay
Round the Mountain Festival
Jun 24, 2018 6:00 am - 6:00 pm| Varies
The Round the Mountain Festival (North Star Mountain, that is) is one of Kimberley BC’s really fun annual events, taking place each year in June. This is the 7th year for the event and it’s always popular with young and old.
The festival beautifully showcases the diverse network of trails in the Kimberley BC area. The literal round-the-mountain route is the order of the day and there are 5 challenges from which participants can choose the level of their own pleasure and ability:
• 20km run – run around the mountain. Average time is 2 hours +
• 10km run – a shorter run around the mountain
• 20km trek – an untimed walk around the mountain
• 20km bike – bike around the mountain. Average time 1!/2 to 2 hours
• Kids Pack – running, mountain biking and other fun stuff
It’s a full day (6 am – 6 pm MT) of biking, running, trekking and climbing, with live music, food and drinks for everyone. And prizes too!
For the kids, the ‘Round the Mountain’ crew organize races, live music, food and drink. The event is hosted by the Kootenay Orienteering Club, the Kimberley Trails Society and the Kootenay Freewheelers Cycling Club.
No matter which challenge you choose, you’re going to start and finish at the Kimberley Nordic Centre.
Last Day of Registration: May 31, 2017 at 23:59 MT – Register online at: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=14146&lan=1&cartlevel=1
