“Our Loved Ones” is a film of ambitious scope and penetrating insight that follows a Québécois family over a thirty-year period as it traces the fallout from the suicide of the family’s patriarch. The story begins in a small village on the Lower St. Lawrence River in 1978. Guy Leblanc, the family patriarch, is discovered in the basement of the family home, having committed suicide. The family hides the truth from certain members, including Guy’s son, David.

Bringing the story forward, David has married and is a loving husband and father to his own children. At a deep personal level, however, David carries a profound sadness within him. Our Loved Ones explores filial love, family secrets, redemption and what is handed down to those who are left behind. This film is suitable for all ages.
