Annual Christmas Bird Count events
Dec 27, 2017 - Dec 30, 2017
Christmas Bird Counts events this season.
Looking for a great outdoor activity for you and your family this holiday season? Why not join the tens of thousands of bird enthusiasts world-wide for the National Audubon Society’s 118th Annual Christmas Bird Counts? Communitiy events with the Nats (naturalists) will be taking place in Golden, Cranbrook and Kimberley and you don’t have to be an experienced ‘birder’ to join the fun.
Choose how you would like to help. You can:
- Go along with an experienced birder and help to record
- Stay home and cozy, watch and record your feeder
- Cover a specifically allocated territory on your own or with family and friends
Here are details for each of the communities.
Golden – December 27, 2017
This will be the 28th annual Christmas Bird Count and will be held in various locations in and around Golden. We count a circle, with Golden as the centre, that includes Hartley and Adolf-Johnson Rds, most of Moberly, Kicking Horse Ski area, Nicholson and as far south as the north end of Horse Creek and Austin Rd.
