Located on the warmer side of the Rockies, the village of Radium Hot Springs BC is one of the very best mountain vacation destinations in the country. Bordering the Columbia River to the west and Kootenay National Park to the east, it is only a 3-hour drive from Calgary through some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery you’ll ever see and a great destination for a fabulous holiday.
You will definitely want to relax in the world-famous Radium Hot Springs open-air, odorless mineral pools, surrounded by natural rock walls. Relax in the soothing waters of the hot soaking pool, kept at a perfect 39C/103F.Then take a dip in the cool plunge pool which has a steady temperature of 27C/84F. Afterwards, enjoy the steam room or visit the Pleiades Spa for a massage, aromatherapy or wellness treatment.
There are so many really excellent eating establishments in Radium Hot Springs that you may have a difficult time choosing. You might fancy a latte or a light lunch in a quaint little downtown cafe, some exceptional pizza to go, or a beautifully prepared authentic European dinner in elegant surroundings. If you just want a quiet evening at home you might pick up some steaks for the barbecue and some fresh, locally grown veggies at the supermarket. Pick up a case of locally-brewed beer or a bottle of award-winning BC wine to accompany your meal.
You can enjoy live entertainment most nights of the week in a local pub. And there are often community events such as festivals, farmers markets, and local musicians entertain live outdoors during the summer months.

In summer, the Radium Hot Springs area abounds with a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities, something to make everyone happy.
2 championship golf courses in the village and more than a dozen others within an easy drive
In fall, the Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep come down from higher elevations to their winter camping grounds right in the middle of town! You’ll see them wandering across the roads and grazing on the lawns in the community. It is not unusual to see elk, bear, mule and white-tailed deer in Kootenay National Park so make sure you take your camera wherever you go while in the Radium Hot Springs area.
