A Poutine Palooza! What on earth ….? Well, let’s clear up the palooza part first – the Urban Dictionary describes a palooza as “an all-out crazy party …. with a ton of people like there’s no tomorrow!”

Now for the poutine part – well, the dish is thought to have originated in Quebec and has thousands of fans all over the country and down into the northern States.  Here’s how it’s made – you start off with hot, crispy french-fries (everybody’s favorites), top them with cheese curds and then cover it all with rich, dark gravy.  Sounds kind of gross when you describe it but honestly, you’ve got to try it! The combination somehow works in perfect harmony on the taste buds and that is why we’re having a poutine palooza.

The Columbia Valley Poutine Palooza is a week-long event, involving several valley restaurants. During the week, visit the participating spots, order their poutine, enjoy and judge. You are going to be deciding which restaurant has the best poutine.

On the last day, there’s a real live Palooza Party at the new Columbia Valley Centre ( age 19+) Cash bar with Taynton Bay and Arrowhead, plus live entertainment by Otters.
