Windermere Beach
Windermere Beach is a small piece of lakeside heaven on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere in the community of the same name, just 10 km south of Invermere BC.
The large sandy beach with an excellent swimming area is set in a park with a children’s playground, picnic tables and washroom facilities, making it a favorite place for families to spend lazy summer days.
In the summer, the lake is the centre of every kind of water sport in the summer months. Enjoy boating, water skiing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing, fishing, sailing and more.
In winter, the Windermere Beach is the southern access to the Lake Windermere Whiteway, a 30+ km groomed track on the surface of the frozen lake. Linking Windermere with Invermere, the Whiteway provides fun and great outdoor exercise for everyone. You can cross-country ski, skate-ski, skate and just enjoy a pleasant walk. Even the family dog is welcome to play off-leash on the Whiteway as long as he is not a danger to others and you pick up after him. (Dogs are not permitted in the beach area.)
