The Elk Valley Nordic Centre, located on the edge of Mount Fernie Provincial Park, is  located a 10-minute drive from downtown Fernie, next door to Mount Fernie Provincial Park.

Trails

There are more than 9 km of scenic trails at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre, on rolling hills nestled into the valley below the Lizard Range and Fernie Alpine Resort. The the trails were professionally designed for intermediate level and above and are groomed regularly for:

• classic and skate skiing
• nordic skiing
• snowshoeing
• fatbiking
• nature walks

At the Elk Valley Nordic Centre trailhead, you will find: a warming hut to warm yourself by a fire, maps and information about the trail system, and when on duty, a knowledgeable trail ambassador to chat with.

The main parking is located in the overflow parking lot at Mount Fernie Provincial Park, where an information kiosk and porta-potty are available. A bridge and connector trail leads to Fernie Alpine Resort.
