If you are looking for a good place to take a refreshing few moments during your trip south on Highway 93/95, look for the sign indicating the pull-off for the Columbia Lake viewpoint. There is ample room for your RV or even a tour bus to stop for a few minutes.

The Columbia Lake Viewpoint is equipped with washrooms and a gazebo where you can take in the view. Most travelers give the incredible scenic panorama no more than a glance as they sail past the rest stop but if you take a few moments to stop there you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful vistas in the Kootenay region.

The beautiful clear Columbia Lake lies below the viewpoint and the gorgeous Rocky Mountains tower in the east. There are so many ‘Kodak moments” for the photographer, especially as the mist rises off the lake and the sun peaks over the hills in the early morning.

It’s a good place to meet up with friends.
