The city of Cranbrook BC, with a population of about 19,500, is the largest of all the communities in the Columbia Valley/East Kootenay area. With major box-stores, great restaurants and theatres, the regional hospital for the East Kootenay, the city is the favorite place to go for goods and services not easily accessible in the other, smaller communities.

Cranbrook is popular with history buffs also, since it is home to the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel and many of its properties are Heritage Designated.

Close to the US border and with the Canadian Rockies International Airport, it is handy for travelers to and from our neighbor to the south.

The city boasts more hours of sunshine annually than any other location in all of BC, a dozen schools, one of which is the main Campus of the College of the Rockies, several golf courses plus more just a short drive from Cranbrook, the only casino in the region, museums, a thriving arts and culture scene and is home to the Kootenay Ice hockey team.
