The Windermere District Historical Society is a group of dedicated volunteers who lovingly tend the Windermere Valley Pioneer Museum in Invermere BC. They are assisted by a part-time curator and, in the summer, several students.

The society manages the museum property and is responsible for acquiring and cataloging artifacts, planning the summer children’s program and other community events and publishing a quarterly newsletter full of stories and other pertinent information.

The society meets the third Thursday of every month and usually enjoys a guest speaker, a show-and-tell or a field trip, along with refreshments.

New members are always welcome. If you are interested in becoming a member of the society, there is a variety of ways you may participate. Forms are available in the museum or you can go to http://windermerevalleymuseum.ca/Documents/membership.pdf

The Windermere District Historical Society can be found at 222 6th Avenue, Invermere.
