Friends of the Invermere Public Library

Friends of the Invermere Public Library is a group of passionate volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the Invermere library is, and will remain, a vital part of the community.

In order to accomplish this goal, the Friends:
•    sponsor fundraising events to support library programs and services
•    receive donations on the library’s behalf
•    advocate on behalf of the library
•    are committed to the new library facility

If you are passionate about books and reading and wish to be a part of such a worthy endeavor, there are a variety of ways to become involved. You might become be a member of the Steering Committee. This committee meets about 7 times each year to plan fundraising events and discuss other ways they can support the library. They are also the business managers of the organization.

You could choose to become a Partner, attending meetings of the steering committee and assisting with events.

If you believe in the value of the library but are unable to give time to the Friends, why not be an Advocate? As an advocate you could be encouraging and giving your financial assistance, then perhaps attending steering committee meetings a few times a year to keep abreast of what’s happening

•    The BIG Book sale in July
•    Christmas Silent Auction
•    Hotdog and book sale at Home Hardware
•    Mountain Mosaic Children’s Festival booth

Memberships in the Friends of the Invermere Public Library are $15 per year. If you would like more information or to become a member, leave your contact information with the library staff and one of the Friends will contact you.
