Wasa spaghetti supper and bake sale

Apr 21, 2018 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Wasa spaghetti supper and bake sale

The Wasa spaghetti supper is organized by Kimberley Refugee Resettlement Group and the Wasa Lions Club and is the third annual spaghetti supper and bake sale in support of refugee resettlement. This is a community fundraising event to help sponsor another family.

The spaghetti supper will include vegetarian and meat sauce, Caesar salad and garlic bread, coffee/tea/juice and dessert. There will also be a bake sale.

The cost is $15 ($10 for ages 6-16, free for 5 and under). Tickets will be available at the door.

KRRG invites families from the Blended Visa Office Referred (BVOR) program, which includes Government of Canada financial support along with financial, social and emotional support from our local group.

“At any given time there are 50 to 60 families awaiting an invitation to move to a safe place like Canada. They are invited, but not required, to accept the invitation. They have suffered untold losses of life, freedom and dignity that we, in our free country, cannot imagine. They are eager to work, get an education and become active members of their communities. Many Canadians whose families have immigrated to Canada, have done the same,” explains Wilma Harding, KRRG Volunteer Coordinator.
