It’s Valley Pride Pitch-in time once again! Time to do some spring housecleaning in the Columbia Valley to get her looking her best for the summer tourist season.

Were not exactly sure how it happens, but every year after the snow melts, we seem to discover that bits and pieces of trash have ‘magically’ collected in our yards, our streets and along the trails and roadsides in our communities.

Valley Pride Pitch-in brings us all together to make short work of the trash. The neighborhood school children get involved mid-week in their respective communities and Saturday morning, the rest of us assemble in full force at a given place and time. Trash bags are handed out and every able-bodied person gets to work. We peer into every nook and cranny and by the end of the day, the Columbia Valley is sparkling once again. And the best part – it hasn’t cost anyone a penny!

The event starts at 10 am in each community. Bring some work gloves and maybe some rubber boots. Plastic garbage bags will be supplied.

Invermere – Pothole Park
Windermere – Windermere Community Hall
Wilmer – Wilmer Hall
Radium Hot Springs – Higher Grounds Coffee Shop
Edgewater – Recreation Centre

After the clean-up there will be coffee and donuts or hot dogs in each of the communities.
