Public hearing about a proposed marina on Lake Windermere
Jul 24, 2018 7:00 pm
Event Navigation
A public hearing about a proposed marina on Lake Windermere this week will be held by the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) to give the public an opportunity to voice their opinions about the proposed development before a decision is made at the regional level.
The Pedley Heights Community Association has applied to change the lake surface zoning to allow for a 90-slip non-commercial marina development on Lake Windermere. The development would be located in the Baltac Bay area.
If your interests are affected by this or if you feel strongly about it one way or another, you are encouraged to attend the hearing in person, or submit a letter to jterpsma@rdek.bc.ca before the deadline of July 24th (this Tuesday).
You can read the short bylaw proposal here: ftp://ftp.rdek.bc.ca/pdf/publichearings/PHN2847_2848WindermerPedleyHeights.pdf
Then, you can read the full application here, from pages 105 – 125:

The RDEK board will be the final decision maker, so all comments and concerns should be directed to either the planning technician and/or to your elected official, Wendy Booth, via a written comment before July 24th, or in-person at the public hearing.
You may contact Wendy Booth by phone at: 250-345-6155
