The 2nd annual Emergency Preparedness Fair is a Columbia Valley celebration in honor of Emergency Preparedness Week.

What would you do if you answered a knock on your door and were informed that you have only an hour to evacuate your home because there’s a forest fire raging out of control or another widespread disaster? Are you prepared? What would you do if you had to leave your beloved pet at home while you and your family fled to safety? Did you know that there is an emergency plan for the Columbia Valley?

At the Emergency Preparedness Fair, you will:

  • Meet first responders from RCMP, ambulance, ESS, fire departments, Holistic Emergency Preparedness, Columbia Valley Search & Rescue, BC Wildfire Service, Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team
  • Find out the emergency plan for the Columbia Valley
  • Get your own plan in place

Make the Emergency Preparedness Fair a family event. Bring the kids. They need to know what to do in the event of such an emergency. And there’s some great fun stuff for the kids too – games, food, giveaways too.

There’s a fundraiser BBQ as well. For the adults, there’s a smokie or a bratwurst and a drink for $5 and the kids can chow down on a hot dog and a drink for $3.
