Wooden Doll Project
Feb 3, 2016 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Navigation
The wooden doll project is a free two-part workshop which is designed to take the participants through a process of self-exploration, culminating in the making of a wooden doll vision board collage.
Part 1, facilitated by local chiropractor, Donna McArthur, involves an evaluation of one’s strengths, weaknesses and goals for personal growth. The seeds for the vision board are planted at the first session.
The participants then go home for 5 weeks, during which time they gather together meaningful bits and pieces to make the collage. These might be old photographs, small scraps of fabric, etc., that will make up the clothes on the wooden doll.
Part 2 of the wooden doll project, on March 9, is the actual making of the clothes for the doll, using the scraps collected. The completed project becomes an intimate self-portrait of the participant.
Space is limited so pre-registration is required. Contact the library by phone to register.
