The Whitehouse Pub, in a historic hotel in Windermere BC,  is a favorite watering hole for the village’s local population. It is also a venue for local entertainers such as bands, etc.

In 1897, when the CPR diverted its route to Revelstoke, many residents left the area in and around Golden and relocated to Windermere. Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Kimpton from Donald, moved their home, The White House, to Windermere in 1900.

The White House became a hotel with 4 or 5 cabins in 1925 and upon the death of the Kimptons in the 1940s, their son converted it to a beer parlor. It continues to be a bar today.
