Crafty grannies spin a few yarns
May 18, Invermere –
A local charity is planning an exciting new event that will attract crafters of all stripes and colors including seamstresses, knitters and quilters.
Granny’s Craft Cupboard is a giant one-day sale of new and gently-used donations of fabric, yarn, notions and every type of craft supply.
The Valley Go-Go Sisters, affectionately known as “the Grannies,” have booked the Invermere Community Hall for Saturday, May 18th and they are now seeking donations.
“Everyone who sews or does crafts ends up with leftover supplies,” said member Val James. “This is a great way to recycle your old items, and know that the money is being used for a good purpose.”

The A/B Trio Coming to Strand’s

Strand’s Old House Restaurant in Invermere has another spectacular musical evening coming up on Friday, March 8, 2013. Thom Bennett and the A/B Trio will be making a stop here on their 2013 Spring Tour and in the cosy and intimate setting of Strand’s you will hear some of the sweetest, most soothing sounds this side of heaven.
Based out of Edmonton, the trio brings together three of Alberta’s most in-demand performing and recording musicians –- Thom Bennett, Dan Davis and Keith Rempel.

A local charity is planning an exciting new event that will attract crafters of all stripes including knitters, quilters, seamstresses and scrapbookers.
Granny’s Craft Cupboard is a giant one-day sale of new and gently-used donations of fabric, yarn, notions and every type of craft supply you can imagine.
The Valley Go-Go Sisters have booked the Invermere Community Hall for Saturday, May 18th and they would like to remind everyone to start setting aside items now. The group will start to collect donations in January, when drop-off locations will be announced.
“Everyone who does crafts ends up with leftover supplies,” said member Val James. “I have many metres of fabric in my sewing cupboard and I’ll be happy to see it sold for such a good cause.”
