DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_19186" align="alignright" width="270"] Click to view poster[/caption]\n\nSwanee and Johnee will be offering you a musical smorgasbord at Strand's Old House Restaurant on the 26th.\n\n"Swanee" Swanson (David)\, a "legend in his own lunchtime" is a long-time Banff\, Alberta resident (since 1979). Growing up in Windsor\, Ontario\, he enjoyed all the cultural advantages of a big city. Going from that big city to the small Rocky Mountain town of Banff\, it might be thought that he has given up a whole lot of career advantages\, but not so; in actuality\, he has had an opportunity to taste the best of both worlds. The real truth of the matter is that the renown of Banff as a world-class cultural mecca has given him opportunities he would likely not even have dreamed of in any other place. He has performed before "Royalty and Reprobates\, Princes and Thieves and all the rest" (quote from his website bio) right here in the Canadian Rockies.\n\nSwanee has performed with many great musicians over the years of his career and plays a variety of instruments. In his album\, a mix of Blues\, R & B\, Swing and Bluegrass roots\, he sings while playing standup bass and  harmonica simultaneously in some songs.\n\nSwanee will be bringing guitarist John Cronin with him to Strand's. John was lead guitarist for Canadian music icon Ian Tyson's band for many years.\n\nThe pair together are incomparable! The evening promises to be special and definitely memorable.
