DESCRIPTION:The Sugar Plum Festival is Fernie's spectacular month-long community celebration of the holiday season. The Arts Station and the historic downtown area come alive  with events for everyone to share - families\, friends and neighbors - of every age! It's pure magic!\n\nThe festival has an early beginning on November 30 with the opening of the Holiday Wreath Gallery - come and see the magnificent display for the whole month of December.\n\nHere's a tentative schedule for the 2017 Sugar Plum Festival:\n\n \tSaturday\, Dec. 2 - 'Sugarcoated' - a Nutcracker-themed musical theatre show with matinee and evening performances\n \tSaturday\, Dec. 9 - 'Tutus and Tails'\, a children's extravaganza\n \tSaturday\, Dec. 16 - 'A Fernie Christmas Story'\, a theatre event\n \tSunday\, Dec. 17 - a screening of the Royal Opera House 'Nutcracker Ballet' at the Vogue Theatre\n \tFriday\, Dec. 22 - a children's Christmas Craft workshop\n \tFriday\, Dec. 22 - caroling by candlelight - with hot chocolate\n\nFor more details about these Sugar Plum Festival events and to keep abreast of any schedule changes\, visit the Fernie Arts Station's facebook page at: https://facebook.com/pg/fernieartsstation/events/?ref=page_internal\n\n \n\n** If the weather permits\, there will be an ice skating rink on the grounds of the Fernie Courthouse all month long.
