DESCRIPTION:The Gin Joints will be onstage at Studio 64\, taking you back to the era of speakeasies\, honky-tonks and roadhouses with a fresh new angle on what became an enduring tradition that has lasted until now and will likely be around for a very long time to come.\n\nBirch Pereira\, on upright bass and vocals with his signature "old soul" tenor voice\, has been nominated for 2017 Vocalist of the Year in the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear awards. Along with Birch is:\n\n \tJason Goessi on guitar\n \tAdrian Van Batenburg on drums\n \tSteve Tressler on saxophone/clarinet\n \tRay Larsen on trumpet\n\nThe band has featured an ever-growing group of superb musicians based out of Seattle\, New Orleans and New York City. Their unique sound can be heard from sit-down dinner theatres to clubs\, festivals and dances.\n\nThe Gin Joints' first album\, 'Dream Man' received the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Award forThe band's debut album\, Dream Man\, was released independently and received the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Award for "Northwest Jazz Recording of the Year" in 2016.\n\nTheir second album\, 'Western Soul' features a mix of jazz with a western flair\, soul originals\, new\, stripped-down reinterpretations of old blues\, swing and early rock and roll.
