SUMMARY:Rockies Film Series presents - 'Breathe'
DESCRIPTION:The Rockies Film Series presents 'Breathe' at  the Key City Theatre in Cranbrook\, a collaboration between the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club and the Toronto International Film Circuit. All proceeds go to youth projects in the community.\n\nThe Story\n\nAfter years of success as an actor\, Andy Serkis (Star Wars\, The Lord of the Rings) makes his directorial debut with Breathe\, the portrait of Robin Cavendish. After being diagnosed with polio at age 28\, Cavendish served as an advocate for people living with disabilities.\n\nAndrew Garfield plays Cavendish alongside Claire Foy as his wife Diana Blacker in this chronicle of a couple determined to break barriers for families facing physical challenges. Paralyzed from the neck down\, Cavendish was put on a respirator but refused to be confined to his hospital bed. Against his doctor’s advice\, he and Diana with their son Jonathan set off on a quest to share their story. Not only was Cavendish a miracle of science for being one of the longest living polio survivors but he was also a pioneer in the medical community for his efforts to enhance mobility for the physically impaired.\n\nWritten by Academy Award nominee William Nicholson and produced by Cavendish’s son\, the Rockies Film Series 'Breathe' shares one of the most hopeful and awe-inspiring tales of the season.\n\nUSA\, 2017\n117 minutes\nEnglish\nPG 13\n\nCost: $12 - The Rockies Film Series 'Breathe'\n\nPurchase tickets:\n\n \tat the Key City Theatre box office\n \tby phone at: 250-426-7006\n \tonline at: https://tickets.keycitytheatre.com/TheatreManager/1/login?event=889\n\nDoors open at 6:30 pm.
