DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_11743" align="alignleft" width="250"] Click to view Post[/caption]\nA second showing of this film of the life of one of the Columbia Valley's legendary residents will take place because the original event was sold out with more than 100 people unable to get in to the Pynelogs venue.\nThis time\, the doors will be open at 6:30 pm and there may be a second showing at 9:30 pm if warranted.\n\nOne of the Columbia Valley's most illustrious residents\, a legend in the manner of all legends\, is Leo Grillmair\, who lives in retirement today in Brisco. Leo has a story to tell - in fact\, he has many stories to tell - and 'Nine Lives Would Not Do'  is a saga of epic adventure and of a man who has lived life with a capital L.\n\nLeo was born in Austria in the 1930s and during the Second World War\, he was trained in mountain warfare. When the war ended in 1945\, he spent time exploring the mountains of Austria and northern Italy.\n\nIn 1951\, he came to Canada and became fast friends with Hans Gmoser. The rest is history\, as they say\, and unfolds in this exciting film which relates stories from his childhood in the 30s to the creation\, with Hans Gmoser\, of Canadian Mountain Holidays\, which was the world’s first heli-skiing company.\n\nAll proceeds from the event will go to  the Hospice Society of the Columbia Valley.
