SUMMARY:LIVE Kicks presents: Chase Padgett's 'Nashville Hurricane'
DESCRIPTION:Chase Padgett's returning to the stage for the first presentation of the 2017/2018 season of Kicking Horse Culture's LIVE Kicks series!\n\nBest known for his extraordinary solo show 6 Guitars which KHC presented to an ENTHUSIASTIC! audience a couple of years back\, Portland-based musician and actor Chase Padgett has created another remarkable winner with Nashville Hurricane. Subtitled “A Curious Tale of Fingerpickin’ Fury\,” this is the darkly whimsical recounting of events from 40 years ago when a mysterious acoustic guitarist appeared out of nowhere\, conquered the music industry\, and then vanished without a trace . . . until now.\n\nOnce again Padgett pulls off a one-man tour de force by vividly bringing several unforgettable characters to life. Aside from the Nashville Hurricane himself (a.k.a. Henry Waltrip)\, there’s Henry’s white trash mother\, Brenda\, and a blues-playing mentor named Tyrone\, with whom Henry shared some crazy gigs on the road.\n\nGreat storytelling is at the heart of Nashville: a wealth of anecdotes and songs that are framed by hilarious rants about love\, music\, growing up in a trailer park\, and several peeks into the dark side of show business. And holding it all together is Padgett’s blazingly virtuosic guitar playing\, which culminates with a show-stopping performance of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”\n\n6 Guitars became hugely successful on the Fringe Festival circuit and elsewhere\, and any KHC regular who was lucky enough to see it here two years ago has probably already decided to buy tickets to Nashville. Padgett has been a professional actor\, improv comedian\, and musician most of his adult life\, including stints at Disney World and Universal Studios\, so it isn’t surprising that his newest show is getting raves all across North America.\n\nDon’t miss the performance that the Orlando Weekly called: “Laugh-out-loud funny and flat-out mesmerizing.”\n\n(text courtesy of Kicking Horse Culture)\n\nTickets will be On Sale September 11th\n\n \tThe first 75 tickets for Members - $15 (+tax)\n \tMember’s Regular Advance tickets - $20 (+tax)\n \tMembers and Non-Members at the door - $25 (+tax)\n \tStudents - always $5 (+tax)\n\nPurchase tickets:\n\n \tat the Box Office at Art Gallery of Golden (516 9 Ave N.)\n \tby phone: 250-344-6186\n
