SUMMARY:Lake Windermere Open Water Swim
DESCRIPTION:The Lake Windermere Open Water Swim is now part of the CANAQUA SPORTS INC. open water swim series in an effort to promote the sport of Open Water Swimming throughout Canada. Open Water Swimming is an Olympic sport and this is an exciting time for the sport in Canada.\n\nThis out and back swim in the magical waters of Lake Windermere starts at 8:00 am. Although Lake Windermere is a warm lake\, wet suits are highly recommended.  Each course is triangular with one turn-around buoy. Escort canoes and kayaks are recommended for all swimmers.\n\n2 Km Swim:\n\nParticipants in the 2Km Swim must be 10 years or older. There are three categories each for male and female:  10-15\, 16-19\, 20+\n\n5 Km Swim:\n\nParticipants in the 5Km Swim must be 12 years or older. There are three categories each for male and female:  12-15\, 16-19\, 20+\n\nThe race starts and finishes at James Chabot Provincial Park in Invermere\, BC.
