The Junior Naturalist Program is a 2-hour summer camp every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Redstreak Campground in Kootenay National Park, just north of Radium Hot Springs BC.

Children from 6 to 12 years will be introduced to the cultural and natural history of Kootenay National Park and the great outdoors. Each day will have a theme that might include the Wetlands, Bears, Sheep, Plants, Conservation and lots more.

During the camp, the kids will go on explorative hikes, play interactive games, do crafts and examine hands-on models and artifacts. Moreover, participants will get the chance to meet Parks Canada staff and counselors who will share their favorite stories and current research.  In short, the idea is for kids to have a blast and enjoy the wonders of Kootenay National Park.

Are you wondering what you are going to do with your kids this summer when they complain they are bored or when you feel they are spending too much time in front of their computers? Why not give them a unique opportunity  to have a fun learning experience in the great outdoors while being active and making some new friends this summer? Sign them up for the Junior Naturalist Program at Kootenay National Park.

Cost is as follows:
– $5 per day per child / $3 per day for each sibling
– 3-day Pass – $10
– 10-day Pass $25

Pre-register at the Radium Park Information Center 250-347-6525 or meet at the Theatre in the Redstreak Campground at 9:45 am on the day of the camp.
