SUMMARY:Hike For Hospice
DESCRIPTION:Hike for Hospice is coming around again this season so get your hiking boots out of the closet and pack the sunscreen. The Hospice Society of the Columbia Valley invites you to be part of our 4th Annual Hike for Hospice at the historic K2 Ranch south of Invermere. You will experience the tranquility of this stunning private ranch while you are supporting the work of our Hospice Society.\n\nThis event happens across Canada\, bringing hikers and walkers together to raise awareness and funds for Hospice. All proceeds raised by the hike remain in our community.\n\nChoose one of two hikes:\n\n \ta 1.5 km walk around lovely McCarthy Lake\n \tan 8 km round trip hike to an equally beautiful lake on an easy forest trail\n\nEach hike will be led by a knowledgeable guide who will point out interesting features along the way: Hikers on both trails will want to pack a “bring-your-own picnic lunch” to enjoy lakeside.\n\nHere's the schedule:\n\n \t9:30 am - registration and check-in begins\n \t10:00 am - enjoy a tour of the historic barn and short history of the ranch\n \t10:30 am - the hike gets underway. All ages are welcome; rain or shine.\n\nPaper butterflies will be available for those who wish to write the names of loved ones and friends they are hiking in support - or in memory of and carry with them along the way. When finished hiking they are invited to pin their butterflies on a memorial banner that will be hung in the Hospice office.\n\nRegistration:\n\n \tAdults (19+ yrs) - $15\n \tYouth (15-18 yrs) - $5\n \tChildren (up to 14 yrs) - FREE\n\nOnline registration\, collecting pledges and making donations in support of the hike can easily be done on our website at http://hospicesocietycv.com.\n\nCan't make the Hike for Hospice in person? Be a virtual hiker!\nIf you are unable to attend the hike you can still collect pledges for our Hospice programs by registering online for free as a "virtual hiker" and collecting pledges from your family and friends.\n\nPaper registration / pledge forms are also available at various locations throughout the Valley:\n\n \tthe Radium Visitor Information Centre\n \tInvermere Home Hardware\n \tCircle Health Food\n \tHospice Office at Unit #103\,  Frater Landing\, 926 7 Ave\, Invermere\n \tColumbia Valley Chamber of Commerce\n \tFairmont Pizza & Ice Cream Parlour\n \tTony’s Greek Grill\n \tCanal Flats Post Office\n\nYou may also register in person the morning of the hike.\n\nDirections to the K2 Ranch:\n\nFrom Invermerem drive south 12.3 km from Laird School\nFrom Fairmont Hot Springs\, drive west on Hwy. 93/95\, then north for 13.3 km on Westside Road\n\nFor more information about Hike for Hospice\, contact Susan Malone at 778-526-5143 or by email at: susan@hospicesocietycv.com\n\n[the_ad_placement id="invermere-in-content"]
