DESCRIPTION:Canada Day celebrations in Invermere officially begin at midnight when the skies over Invermere will come alive with a huge fireworks display\, thanks to the local Kinsmen Club. To get a good vantage point for the fireworks display\, you can choose one of these:\n\n[su_list icon="icon: arrow-right" icon_color="#f69d01"]\n\n \tMake your way down to the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena early enough to get a seat on the bleachers.\n \tBring lawn chairs and blankets to James Chabot Beach\n \tWatch from Lakeview Road\n \tWatch from your boat on the Lake\n\n[/su_list]\n\nJust a few hours later\, at 11: 00 AM\, crowds will line Main Street to watch the parade\, with floats\, clowns\, sirens\, music and everything that makes a typical small town parade something for the memory books. Everyone gets involved\, the costumes are colorful and even the family pets come along. The local RCMP detachment will be in full dress for this special occasion. Fire engines will be polished up too. Watch your favorite people proudly marching past in the Canada Day parade.\n\nLocal performers provide continuous live entertainment on the Home Hardware festival stage. Food kiosks\, a Bounce Castle and face painting for the kids at the Transformation Station are all part of the festivities.  And at 3:00 PM wander down to the beach to watch the ever-popular Windermere Fire Department’s boat-building contest and race.\n\nWhile you are enjoying the party\, don’t forget to take a few minutes to browse through the Pynelogs Art Gallery to enjoy a display of the works of local artists. Then\, help yourself to birthday cake because it just wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake!\n\nThe Canada Day celebration is FREE to all and there’s lots of fun for everyone in the family.\n\nParade formation and route\n\nWe will form up on 9th Avenue beside Pot Hole Park at 10:00 a.m. (enter via the AG Foods side)\nPlease attend the Registration Table by the Washroom building to register your entry. \n\nThe parade will start from 5A Street at 11:00 a.m. through the Main Street of Invermere\, to Kinsmen Beach. \n\nDispersal will be at the east end parking lot\, allowing adequate parking for participants families.\n\nThe Legion organizes the parade each year. To help with the parade entries we ask that you register your entry\, via email to invermerecanadadayparade@gmail.com or phone 250-342-3335\, alerting us as to youth\, club\, group\, business name\, estimated number of persons participating.
