The fascinating works on display are by Salt Spring Island artists Nicola Weston and Asha Robertson.\n\nNicola Weston\n"I am a figurative and landscape artist living on Salt Spring Island. I come from a traditional background and training in painting —painting the figure from life and capturing the landscape plein air. Painting what I observe has challenged me for all of my adult life. It is a never-ending process of perception\, intentions\, trials and solutions." (from her website at: http://nicolaweston.com )\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAsha Robertson\n"Asha Robertson's practice explores both the two and three-dimensional. Her paintings are landscape derived exploring texture and medium referring back to her sculptural training. Robertson has an interdisciplinary approach to her sculpture. Her approach is thematic in that she produces small series that resolve a particular concern."
