SUMMARY:90th Anniversary Tattoo
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Confederation in Canada and the 90th anniversary of the Kimberley Pipe Band\, over 160 pipers and drummers plus 50 dancers and other performers will converge upon the city of Kimberley for the 90th Anniversary Tattoo of the Kimberley Pipe Band\, with an extravaganza that will remain in the memory books long after the last piper has piped the last note.\n\nFor the past 90 years the Kimberley Pipe Band has been a favorite part of most major parades and festivals held in the Kootenay area.  Every 10 years\, since their 50th anniversary they have hosted a major music and marching performance known as a Tattoo.\n\nCome and join in the festivities! There are several events planned for the weekend:\n\n \tJuly 14 at 11 am - There will be a FREE concert in the Platzl with the Cowichan Pipe Band from Duncan BC and the BC Regimental Band\, based in Vancouver.\n \tJuly 15 at 9 am - Centre 64 is serving a delicious Pancake Breakfast to start of the day\n \tJuly 15 at 10 am -There will be the 90th Anniversary Tattoo\, a fantastic 2-hour show of pipers\, drummers and dancers at the Kimberley Civic Centre\n \tJuly 15 at 9 pm - Ceilidh with Johnny McCuaig Band at the Kimberley Civic Centre. (For those who not only cannot pronounce ceilidh but don't know what it is\, a Ceilidh (ˈkālē) is a a social event at which there is Scottish or Irish folk music and singing\, traditional dancing\, and storytelling).\n\nTickets for the 90th anniversary Tattoo are available online at: http://kimberleypipeband90.ca \n\n
