Windermere Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival

[September 12/15] When autumn is in the air, what could possibly be a better way to celebrate this glorious season than with the  old-fashioned Windermere Fall Fair? The community of Windermere BC knows just how to host the best one ever!

The Windermere Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival brings visitors of all ages from near and far. By the time the gates open, the judges will have made their decisions and the community hall will be filled to the brim with displays of the winning entries in a multitude of categories, all proudly sporting their ribbons. Every kind of vegetable and fruit that can possibly be grown in local home gardens, jams and jellies, pickles, home baking, canning, herbs, flowers, photography and so much more, have been judged and found to be the very best. And the displays of the winning quilts give testimony to the amazing talent of valley quilters.

Outdoors, there are demonstrations of bent-willow furniture making, wood-carving, blacksmithing, etc. and beautiful hand-made jewellery, knitted items, sewing and more to admire and purchase. Delightful scarecrows are displayed all around the grounds, unique and hand-made by creative individuals, families or businesses and all entered into the competition.

There are games and contests for the kids, with a dog show, face painting, fish tank, clowns, etc. And all the while, talented local musicians keep toes tapping and add that special fall-fair atmosphere.

If you are going to be in the valley in September,  plan to come and celebrate the harvest season with the friendly valley folks at the Windermere Fall Fair. We guarantee you’ll be glad you came!

Bring back Radium Car Show and Invermere Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival on the same weekend. Difficult to attend both which are amazing. Thanks to the organizers of both events.
