For more than twenty years, thousands of classic car enthusiasts from all over British Columbia, Alberta and the United States have flocked to Radium Hot Springs on a Saturday in September for the annual Columbia Valley Classics Autumn Show and Shine. A summertime musical breath of fresh air is coming to the Columbia Valley August 16-20, 2011. Although the new Columbia Valley Chamber Music Festival will be based in Invermere, organizer Lauren Robinson is hoping its spirit will find a home in the heart of the entire valley and it will become a permanent part of the annual music scene here, drawing visitors from the rest of BC and beyond.

Summerlude 2011
July 20-23, Invermere –
Summerlude is about having fun and celebrating summer in the Columbia Valley and for four days in July hundreds of locals and visitors do just that.
The festivities begin at Pynelogs Cultural Centre with 2 evenings of ‘Pynestock’, a totally refreshing youth concert in which a dozen or so very talented local twenty-somethings improvise to create never-before-heard compositions. The concerts are described as having “a smidgen of classical, two scoops of rock and three giant helpings of who-the-heck-knows-what genre” ( www.cvarts.com ) and are wildly successful.
