In the north part of Fairmont Hot Springs along Highway 93/95, a magical adventure awaits you and your family at Funtasia Fun Park. Situated in an old Douglas fir forest, evoking memories of the enchanted forests of childhood fairy tales, Funtasia offers a wealth of activities for the young-at-heart.

The love Joseph and Tanya have been pouring into this rustic wonderland can be felt by most people who come to play. Test your skills on an 18-hole mini golf course designed by a world-class billiards player. With greens that flow around rocks and the gnarled roots of huge tree trunks, it promises a challenge to the good golfer while, at the same time, not overwhelming the novice. “It’s the best mini golf course I’ve ever played anywhere” is a regular comment from visitors.

Take the wheel of one of the spin ‘n’ bump cars and thrill to unbounded freedom while you slip and slide and spin donuts like a pro in a simulated ice-driving experience. Although drivers must be 48” in height, smaller kids can ride along in the 2-seater passenger ships with the adult at the wheel, getting the whole family involved in the fun.

The real stars of the show, however, are the miniature animals, many of whom have been rescued and now call Funtasia ‘home’. Donkeys, alpacas, sheep, emu, chickens, ducks and bunnies all love to be fed and petted by the children. The horses and goats love to line up alongside the mini golf course and cheer on the players. And in the summer months the baby bunnies and kittens play with the children on the garden deck.

Keeping as small a carbon footprint as possible, Funtasia has been developed using recycled and reclaimed materials where possible and avoids all cosmetic pesticides and herbicides on the grounds. The bumper cars are powered by electricity, using rechargeable batteries and saving on fossil fuels and noise pollution.

You can take a leisurely stroll around the colorful flower gardens that border the lush green grass, then walk the Labyrinth –- the ancient tool of self-discovery and reflection -– and discover your real essence. Take a refreshingly cold spring foot shower, then step into the wish pond and treat yourself to some hydrotherapy.

Visit the Clubhouse Cafe to purchase delicious salads made with organic vegetables and herbs, picked at the peak of perfection in the organic garden, panini sandwiches, smoothies and other delicacies. And while you are there, say hello to Paulie, the yellow-crested Amazon parrot. He loves to visit and will keep you smiling.
