Panorama praised as ‘mountain resort of the year’

May 12, 2011 — Panorama Mountain Village has been awarded the prestigious ‘Mountain Resort of the Year’ by the BC Alpine Association. The award is a well-deserved recognition of the total commitment of the resort’s owners to being the best family-focused mountain resort in Canada. Not satisfied with being a true ski-in/ski-out resort with one of North America’s biggest vertical descents and a fantastic variety of terrain, their determination and hard work is continually being demonstrated through their extensive family programming, their unique resort facilities and numerous dining offerings.

The award presentation took place at the Association’s spring annual meeting in Kelowna on May 6, 2011. Bruce Hamstead, race training and mountain events manager at Panorama, accepted the award. “This award is a reflection of the dedication of the ownership, management and staff at Panorama to being the best in every aspect of our business,” he said.

“BC Alpine gives the award for dedication above and beyond the normal expectations of a resort, a level of commitment that contributes to the improvement of the club or event and for on- and/or off-hill participation.

“The ski racing community from the Nancy Greene Ski League to the World Cup is an important part of our business and we are delighted to have been recognized by the BC Alpine Ski Association as ‘Mountain Resort of the Year’. We look forward to elevating our ability to help train our young athletes and to perhaps seeing them on the podium at World Cup and Olympic events in the future” stated Mr. Hamstead.
